Why Wadi exists

Homes for families who never had an architect.

In the Konkan, the coastal strip of Maharashtra, many families build their home on a government housing grant. The grant pays for the construction, but not for an architect. So the local contractor and mason lay the house out from experience, and the family does not really see their home until the walls are already up. By then, changing anything is slow and costly.

Wadi is a home designer built so that an AI agent does the drawing. A design is authored once as a full parametric model in Wadi's own design language, with 3D, dimensioned floor plans, elevations and a proper Konkan roof. A family starts from a design close to what they want, changes it just by talking to an agent, and walks through the result in 3D before a single brick is laid.

One small file describes the whole house

Every Wadi house is written in a little language called WDL. One readable text file spells out the entire 3D model: the floors, rooms, walls, doors, windows, columns, the staircase and the roof.

The house is the code, so the model is built straight from the file.

An architect can just type it

The syntax is simple enough to pick up in an afternoon. An architect writes WDL in the editor built into Wadi and watches the 3D model, the plans and the elevations update as they type.

A structural checker runs on every change and points out anything that would not stand, like an unsupported staircase or a column that stops short of the slab.

Anyone can open it and explore in 3D

Open the .wadi file and Wadi rebuilds the full interactive 3D model. Walk around it, step inside the rooms, read the dimensioned plans.

Everything runs on your device. You do not need a connection to open a .wadi file and see the 3D model, which really matters on a build site with no signal.

For a long time one piece was missing: a simple way for the owner or contractor, who do not know WDL, to make changes themselves. That is what WebMCP adds.
